Willen Hospice Volunteering

Willen Hospice, a renowned care facility in Milton Keynes, continues to provide specialist end-of-life care for adults, with an emphasis on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support, and care for carers. This comprehensive approach to palliative care is what sets Willen Hospice apart.

Living with life-limiting illnesses often comes with distressing pain and symptoms. The dedicated team at Willen Hospice, composed of both staff and volunteers, offers compassionate, specialist support to alleviate the physical and emotional effects of these illnesses and treatments. This support extends not just to the patients, but also to their family members, providing them with the emotional fortitude needed in these challenging times.

On September 21 and 22, a group of volunteers from our Milton Keynes office lent their hands at the Willen Hospice store. Their task was to help sort donations, an integral part of the hospice’s operations. The efforts of these volunteers were greatly appreciated by the hospice, as these contributions play a crucial role in their ability to continue providing care.

To maintain its high level of care, Willen Hospice needs to raise approximately £11 per minute from the local community. This underscores the importance of fundraising and community involvement in supporting the vital work carried out by the hospice.

With over 40 years of experience, Willen Hospice has been a cornerstone in the community, providing compassionate, personal end-of-life care both at their In-Patient Unit and in patients’ homes. As they continue to serve the community, their commitment to improving the quality of life for both patients and their families remains steadfast.
